The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia celebrates the Independence Day of Georgia in Ozurgeti
Within the framework of the celebratory events dedicated to the Independence Day of Georgia, the National Wine Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is presented with the concept - "Georgia - homeland of wine" in the city of Ozurgeti.
The chairman of the National Wine Agency, Levan Mekhuzla, is present at the celebratory event in Ozurgeti, who, together with the representatives of the local government, introduces himself to the wine companies presented within the framework of the festival.
About 10 local wine producers participate in the event; The so-called "Sommelier's corner" is arranged, where professional tasting is held; Visual and informative material related to the history and traditions of Georgian wine and grape culture is presented, including the variety of wine and grape varieties of the Guria region;
The exhibition and sale of Georgian wine continues throughout the day in the square in the center of the city, there is an entertainment and educational space for children, and children's concerts are held.
The event will end with a gala concert and grand "fireworks" at the end of the day.
Guria region is known for classic European type and high quality wines. Guria is the birthplace of the famous Chkhaveri. Among the historical varieties of the region, the following are also worth noting: Jani, Mtevandidi, Skhilatubani, Zenaturi, Sakmiela, although today the most common variety in Guria is Tsolikouri.
