Wine professionals from Asian countries visited Georgia
The Head of the contractor marketing company of the National Wine Agency, "Meiburg Wine Media", Debra Meiburg organized a visit of wine professionals from China and Singapore to Georgia.
Within the framework of the tour, the members of the 14-person group, which included sommeliers and importers, visited wine factories in Kartli and Kakheti. The guests also attended the annual festival of natural wines "ZERO COMPROMISE" held in Tbilisi, where they had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the products of about 100 producers.
According to the master of wine, Debra Meiburg, Georgian wine has a great prospect in the Asian market.
"When we talk about Asia, we have to take into account the different markets of Georgian wine - Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea and Japan. Each of these markets has different tastes, different levels of development and different knowledge about Georgian wine, which I think is exciting for producers, because there is room for everyone in these markets. During the last decade, while working on Georgian wines, I have noticed an amazing increase in quality, awareness of international taste and style, as well as the accuracy of labels and presentation," said Debra Meiburg.
Asian countries, especially China, remain strategic markets for Georgian wine. In order to increase the popularity and export of Georgian wine in China, various marketing events will be held in 2023 with the support of the National Wine Agency.
