A meeting was held in Sachkhere municipality regarding the launch of the vineyard cadastre program in Western Georgia

The National Wine Agency is starting to carry out the vineyard cadastre program in Guria, Samegrelo, Imereti and Adjara. In this regard, the Deputy Chairman of the National Wine Agency, Zurab Vacharadze, and the Head of the Viticulture Cadastre Division, Davit Maghradze, met the representatives of Sachkhere and Chiatura self-governments in Sachkhere municipality.
As it was mentioned during the meeting, the implementation of the vineyard cadastre program is important for the development of the area of viticulture and winemaking, the program ensures the simplification of the harvest process and the traceability of grape products. Details of the program and implementation stages were discussed at the meeting.
On the part of the representatives of the local government, full readiness was expressed for the involvement in the process of implementation of the program.
Similar meetings have already been held in Adjara, Guria, Samegrelo and Imereti regions.
At the next stage of program implementation, the training and registration process of relevant technical personnel will begin.
The National Wine Agency has been carrying out the cadastre program since 2014. The program has already been completed in Kakheti, Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli, Mtskheta-Mtianeti and Samtskhe-Javakheti regions. A total of 45,321 hectares of vineyards are described in the mentioned regions.
The vineyard cadastre is created by registering each vineyard plot and includes the grape varieties existing in the vineyard, the date of planting and the condition of the vineyard, etc. Information is collected in the field, by interviewing viticulturists and identifying vineyard plots on aerial photographs.
