Promotion of Georgian wine remains state’s priority
The state budget of the facilitating program for Georgian wine promotion was determined as GEL 14 million in 2023, which is GEL 2 million more than the approved budget of 2022.
From the mentioned amount, GEL 2 million will be directed towards the “State Program for Facilitating the Promotion of Georgian Wine", which was approved by the Government of Georgia in September 2021. The goal of the program is to increase the export potential, competitiveness and awareness of Georgian wine on international markets, diversify strategic and priority export markets. The program is carried out by the National Wine Agency, in coordination with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia. Co-financing of marketing costs will be implemented only for those companies that export to priority markets and to different countries of the world, except CIS countries, and at the same time meet other conditions established by the program.
The USA, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, the Baltic states, South Korea and Japan remains as priority markets for Georgian wine, where the contractor companies of the National Wine Agency will implement various measures to facilitate the promotion of Georgian wine and increase its export potential.
In addition, Georgian wine will be presented at all important international exhibitions and festivals of wine and alcoholic beverages in the United States of America, European and Asian countries.
Wine exhibitions, competitions, tours and festivals will be held throughout Georgia, which is important for increasing the potential of wine tourism and the culture of wine consumption among the local population.
