The Vintage in Racha is in an Active Phase
The vintage is actively underway in the Racha region. According to the data of October 13, 800 tons of Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grapes were processed in Ambrolauri municipality. About 900 winegrowers handed over grapes to wine enterprises and the received income reached 5.5 million GEL.
This year, about 40 private companies were registered at the vintage coordination HQ in Ambrolauri, which will buy grapes from the local population.
At this stage, up to 30 grape receiving points have been opened in different locations in Ambrolauri municipality, which gives the population the opportunity to collect the harvest without interruption.
For full accommodation of the grape harvest, active involvement, and stimulation of private enterprises in the vintage process, according to the decision of the Government of Georgia, the subsidy program is also implemented in the Racha region. All companies that will purchase and process at least 3 tons of Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grapes grown in the micro-zone of Khvanchkara, and pay the grower at least 7 GEL will receive a subsidy. The companies will receive 4 GEL per kg of Aleksandrouli and 1 kg of Mujuretuli as a state subsidy.
It should be noted that the vintage is coming to an end in the Kakheti region. At this stage, about 240 thousand tons of grapes have been processed in Kakheti. About 21,000 winegrowers, whose income reaches 240 million GEL, have already harvested the crop.
