Australian winemakers got familiar with Georgian grape varieties and winemaking technology in Georgia

David Tkemaladze, Deputy Chairman of the National Wine Agency, introduced the strategy of promotion and marketing of Georgian wine to the representatives of the Austrian company "Bentroad Winery".

The discussion at the meeting touched upon the planning of events, which should definitely contribute to the increase of the awareness of Georgian wine in Australia and the use of the potential of Georgian wine sales in Australia.

Bentroad Winery produces 300,000 bottles of wine annually.

In 2018,  "Bentroad Winery" company purchased 15 Georgian Qvevri and began making Qvevri wine in Australia from Saperavi grapes grown in Australia. In addition to Saperavi, the company produces Qvevari wine from French white grape varieties. Products are sold both in Australia and the USA.

The visit of representatives of the company was organized by Winery PI. Within the framework of the visit, Australian winemakers visited wine producers in Kartli, Kakheti, Imereti and Racha. Australian winemakers are interested in  Georgian Qvevri wine technology and Georgian grape varieties.
