Georgian wine was exported to Qatar for the first time
As a result of long-term cooperation and work between the Embassy of Georgia in Qatar and the Qatar Distribution Company, Georgian wine was exported from Georgia to Qatar for the first time. Qatar Distribution Company (QDC) holds an exclusive license to trade and import alcoholic beverages in Qatar.
From May 27, 12 different Georgian wines were placed in the network of the Qatari distribution company. Georgian wine will soon be available in five-star hotels in Doha and in areas allowed for alcohol.
Georgian Wine Corner in Qatar was opened jointly by the Ambassador of Georgia to Qatar Nikoloz Revazishvili and the Executive Director of the Distribution Company, Gareth Kogan.
In order to popularize and raise the awareness of Georgian wine, tasting was organized by the Embassy of Georgia in Qatar at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Doha. The event was attended by ambassadors from various countries accredited to Qatar, as well as representatives of the Horeca sector and local business circles.
During the event, guests had the opportunity to get acquainted with the culture and history of Georgian wine, as well as to taste Georgian wine and Georgian traditional dishes.
The promotion and export of Georgian wine in the local market of Qatar is especially important given the fact that Qatar is the host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, during which Qatar will be visited by millions of visitors from different countries.
