The Government of Georgia has adopted a resolution “on the approval of the certification rules for alcohol, agricultural ethyl alcohol, and agricultural distillate”
The purpose of the resolution is to regulate the issues related to the certification of spirits, ethyl alcohol of agricultural origin, and distillate of agricultural origin produced in Georgia, which ensures the high quality of these products.
The decree details the stages of certification, the obligations of the business operator, the laboratory testing procedures of the sample, and the conditions for conducting inspections and issuing certificates.
Certification is carried out by the National Wine Agency, a Legal Entity of Public Law under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.
