In January, Georgian wine exports increased significantly
In January of this year, the export of Georgian wine, brandy, Chacha, brandy alcohol and brandy on tap earned up to 21.8 million USD, which is 35% more than the same period in 2021.
During this period, 5.3 million bottles (0.75 l) of Georgian wine were exported from Georgia to 35 countries, which is 51% more than the same period last year; Exports earned $ 11.6 million, an increase of 43%.
Export growth dynamics are sustained in strategic markets, where the National Wine Agency implements marketing measures to increase the popularity and awareness of Georgian wine: Poland 103% (502986 bottles), China 514% (278493), Lietuva 114% (117588), USA 245% (798) ), Latvia 22% (92892), Estonia 102% (64344), Japan 482% (17280) and UK 35% (42528).
The growth is also significant in the following countries: Ukraine 93% (574566), Kazakhstan 106% (99672), Netherlands 74% (18270), Sweden 234% (19590), Russia 34% (3204979), Mongolia 23% (40884) etc.
123 companies exported different volumes of wine from Georgia.
"The growth trend of exports is maintained both in terms of quantity and revenue. In general, January is less active in terms of exports of wine and spirits, but this year has seen a significant growth rate, which is a very good fact and we hope that the growth trend will continue throughout the year, "- said the chairman of the National Wine Agency, Levan Mekhuzla.
