Within the framework of Wine Week, Festival – New Small Cellars on Wide Field – Was Organized
Within the framework of Georgian Wine Week, with Georgian Wine Club organization, wine festival “New Small Cellars on Wide Field” was held in the N1 winery of Tbilisi.
Over 20 famous and new small cellars were represented at the activity and they offered their wine to the guests.
The festival was opened by the head of National Wine Agency, Giorgi Samanishvili.
“Today is one of the most important activities within the framework of Wine Week – presentation of small cellars to wine fans. Small cellar segment has significantly developed recent years, also Georgian wine development is impossible without it. This is the niche, which was being missed for tens of years. Today, hundreds of new wineries work, which produce and poure wine in bottles, they are already proud of their distinguished quality and it brings wine tourists and fans” - noted Giorgi Samanishvili.
The festival was lead by wine writer, the developer of Wine Club, Malkhaz Kharbedia, who introduced detailed information about the history of the wineries to the guests and spoke about vineyards and wines.
“Here are the cellars, which have come up to the native or international market within the last two years and they have already succeeded. Most of them also were the members of “New Wine Festival”. There were tasted these wines first time, may be they didn\'t have much wine, but they do a great job. This festival today will let more people get known to these new wines” - mentioned Malkhaz Kharbedia.
With National Wine Agency of Ministry of Agriculture organization, Georgian Wine\'s Day is celebrated the third year. The permanent partners of the event are: association “Georgian Wine”, Georgian Sommelier Association, Kakheti Wine Guild, Wine Club and Wine Tourism Association. Considering the great interest of Georgian population and tourists towards the activity in the previous years, it was settled to organize Georgian Wine Week this year.
