According to the data of September 29, 200 thousand tons of grapes have been processed in Kakheti, which means that the main part of the harvest has already been sold.
Up to 20 thousand winegrowers earned more than 220 million GEL from the  grapes sales.
Up to 118 thousand tons of processed grapes are Rkatsiteli, up to 72 thousand tons are Saperavi, up to 4.4 thousand tons are Kakhetian green, the rest are different varieties of grapes.
Since the beginning of the vintage, 220 large, small and medium-sized wineries have been involved in the grape processing.
According to the decision of the Government of Georgia, a subsidy program is in place to support the vintage 2021. The aim of the program is to avoid the negative affect caused by the pandemic on viticulture-farmers and wine producers, to fully store the grape harvest.
This is the first vintage when a farmer delivers grapes to enterprises on the basis of an cadastral extract issued by the National Wine Agency.
