Almost half of the grape harvest is already stored in Kakheti

As of September 17, up to 130,000 tons of grapes have been processed in Kakheti, which is about 50% of the forecast harvest and is twice as much as in the same period last year.
In Kakheti, up to 13 thousand viticulturists have already received income of up to 120 million GEL from the sale of grapes.
Up to 75 thousand tons of processed grapes are Rkatsiteli, 46 thousand tons -  Saperavi, up to 3 thousand tons - Kakhetian Green and the rest of different varieties of grapes.
The daily processing of grapes is still within 10 thousand tons, which indicates the active course of the harvest.
Up to 170 large, small and medium-sized wine cellars have been involved in the grape processing process since the beginning of the harvest.
According to the decision of the Government of Georgia, a subsidy program will be implemented to support the vintage 2021. The aim of the program to avoid the negative affect of the pandemic situation on viticulturist farmers and wine producers, to fully store the grape harvest.
