The presentation of Georgian wine was held in Matsumoto, Japan
The event was hosted by Kenichi Ohashi - Master of Wine, Director of the National Wine Agency contractor marketing company Red Bridge, and Motohiro Okoshi, a well-known Japanese sommelier.
Nagano Prefecture, where the city of Matsumoto is located ranks 3rd in Japan in terms of wine consumption.
Georgian wine was presented in Nagano for the first time and its was aimed to increase the awareness of Georgian wine among consumers and to promote sales in the wine trade market. The tasting was attended by 35 representatives of restaurants, wine bars and hotels.
The presentation by Kenichi Ohashi included the history of Georgia, the diversity of local vine varieties and winemaking methods, as well as the experience of combining Georgian wine with Japanese cuisine.
A total of 7 wines were presented at the tasting, both European style and made by Qvevri technology.
