According to the data of September 1, up to 9000 tons of grapes were processed from August 27 to date
The grapes damaged by the disaster were handed over to the wineries by about 1300 winegrowers - their income reaches 8 million GEL.
On August 31, the state-owned enterprise Crop Management Company Ltd was receiving hail-damaged grapes at 9 locations.
The amount of grapes hailed and the pace of delivery provide grounds for the disaster-damaged crop to be completely accommodated by September 3rd.
On August 26, heavy hail and wind damaged 4600 hectares of vineyards in Kakheti region, Gurjaani, Telavi and Kvareli municipalities. The degree of damage varies from location to location and ranges from 10% to 90%.
According to the government's decision, the viticulturists whose harvest has been 100% destroyed by the hail will receive 3000 GEL per hectare as a one-time compensation. The grape growers deliver the grapes damaged as a result of the hail: 1 kg of Rkatsiteli for 0.80 GEL and 1 kg of Saperavi for 1 GEL.
In addition, the calculation of the loss of the beneficiaries of the hail-affected state agricultural insurance program has already begun. The state finances 70% of the insurance policy for all crops and 50% for vines.
