Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency and Givi Metreveli, Deputy Representative of the Kakheti Region discussed the organizational issues of the upcoming vintage at a meeting with the representatives of the villages of Lagodekhi and Akhmeta municipalities.
Unlike previous years, from this year, all viticulturists will hand over the grapes to the enterprise with a cadastral extract. Village trustees issue certificates to viticulturists only in case of delivery of Rkatsiteli and Kakhetian Mtsvani to the state enterprises, which will be submitted together with the extract of the viticulture cadaster.
It was emphasized at the meeting that during the 2021 vintage, the yield limit and the quality of PDO grapes to be delivered will be strictly controlled.
Emphasis was also placed on the need to comply with regulations in the vintage process designed to prevent the spread of the virus during pandemic conditions.
Prior to the vintage, similar meetings were organized by the National Wine Agency in all Kakheti municipalities.
