Vineyard registration and updating of cadastral information is underway
04.06.2021

The vintage 2021 will be conducted on bases of cadastral data. Without a cadastral extract, a viticulturist will not be able to deliver grapes to a winery. In regard to the above information, it is necessary to register the vineyards and update the cadastral information.
At this stage, vineyards are being registered and cadastral information is being updated in the following municipalities: Kvareli, Gurjaani, Signagi (villages of Tsnori region), Telavi and Akhmeta. Registration is available at the existing registration points located in the above-mentioned municipalities and villages, for a total of 33 locations. Upgrades are required in case of a vineyard change - purchase, rental, giving away, cultivation or uprooting. Registration of all vineyards planted with white grape and red grape varieties is mandatory.
In addition, within the framework of the Vineyard Cadaster Program, aerial photography is carried out in Dedoplistskaro and Sighnaghi municipalities. This month, after the completion of the aerial filming, the registration will start in Dedoplistskaro municipality. Viticulturists will receive additional information on the start of registration in Lagodekhi and Sagarejo municipalities.
The National Wine Agency has been implementing the Georgian Vineyard Cadaster Program since 2014. The establishment of the Georgian National Vineyard Cadaster will ensure the simplification and transparent conduction of the vintage process. The vineyard cadaster is created by collecting detailed information on the identification and registration of each vineyard land (vine varieties in the vineyard, planting date, vineyard condition, etc.). Information is collected in the field, by surveying growers and identifying the vineyards represented on aerial photographs.
The vineyard cadaster is available to all EU member states where the viticulture and winemaking industry is developed. Georgia will share and develop another important European experience by creating a vineyard cadaster.
