With the support of the National Wine Agency, Georgian wine tasting was held in Poland
The presentation of Georgian wine was organized by the National Wine Agency contractor company - "Malinova" in Krakow, Poland. The event was attended by sommeliers, restaurateurs, wine writers and media representatives from Krakow and Katowice.
The tasting mainly presented up to 10 wines from the small wineries of Kartli, Kakheti and Imereti, which are not currently exported to the Polish market. The aim of such events is to facilitate the establishment of new producers in the Polish wine market.
The presentation of Georgian wine in Krakow was led by wine journalist Mariusz Kapczynski and the head of the company "Malinova" Marchin Sviatkov.
Poland is one of the strategic markets for Georgian wine, where exports are growing every year. In 2020, about 60 companies sold wine from Georgia to Poland and exported more than 5 million bottles of Georgian wine. The growth, compared to 2019 exports, was 30%. For the five four months of this year, exports amounted to more than 2,2 million bottles (an increase of 11%).
In order to maintain the growing rate of Georgian wine exports, one of the largest exporting countries, Poland, has been actively campaigning this year.
