Georgian wine will be presented at the French gastronomic festival
Georgian wine will be presented at the prestigious French gastronomic festival "SAVIM Printemps Salon des Vignerons et de la Gastronomie" with the support of the National Wine Agency and organization of the contractor company "LE PONT CAUCASIEN".
The festival will be held in Marseille on May 21-24 and will feature wine importers from different countries in the French market. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of visitors is limited this year.
The head of the company "LE PONT CAUCASIEN", oenologist Ilia Kakhoidze will introduce the wines that are already for sale in France to the guests of the festival.
The festival "SAVIM Printemps Salon des Vignerons et de la Gastronomie" has been held since 1989 and is considered as one of the leading gastronomic events. It is visited by restaurant chains, wine bars and other representatives of the wine trade, which will further help raise the awareness of Georgian wine and increase its export potential.
Demand for Georgian wine, especially Qvevri wine, is growing every year in France, the country famous for its winemaking, where in 2020 114 thousand bottles of wine were exported from Georgia, which is 22% more than in 2019. In January-April of this year, 16 thousand bottles of wine were exported, an increase amounted 180% compared to the same period last year.
