Georgian Wine - National Wine Agency

In the first quarter of 2021, the Agency carried out state supervision in 7 wine companies, which means to determine the compliance of the wine technological process in the enterprises with the requirements defined by the legislation of Georgia. The wine samples taken in all seven enterprises met the established requirements.
During the same period, the Agency inspected 10 companies; One of these companies was refused to export products. An inspection involves verifying the compliance of an export alcoholic beverage or spirit sample submitted with a lot (a batch of bottled wine).
In addition, for the purpose of organoleptic testing of alcohol, 56 tastings were conducted, 2263 samples were received, 107 were evaluated negatively, 2156 - positively. It should be noted that according to the amendments to the Law of Georgia on Vine and Wine, from January 1, 2018, all categories of export wine will be subject to mandatory tasting.
Along with the increase in the number of wine exports, it is especially important to control the quality of Georgian wine and spirits.
