Despite the pandemic, both in 2020 and this year, marketing events are mainly held in remote formats to maintain the growth trend of Georgian wine exports.
As a result, in the first quarter of 2021, the volume of wine exports increased by 2% compared to the same period in 2020, however, the value is 5% lower, which is due to the reduction of prices in world wine markets in a pandemic situation.
It should be noted that in addition to Georgian wine, in the first quarter of 2021, 7.4 million bottles (0.5 l) of brandy and 111 thousand bottles (0.5 l) of Chacha were exported from Georgia.
In total, revenues from exports of wine, brandy, Chacha, brandy alcohol and brandy on tap amounted 73 million USD, which is 4% more than the same period last year.
