This year the forum was planned to be held in Davis, California, USA, at the base of Robert Mondavi Center, one of the most prestigious wine universities in the world. However, due to the pandemic, it was decided to conduct it online. The forum traditionally includes a scientific conference, during which scientists from different countries of the world get acquainted with the scientific research related to the culture and history of Georgian vines.
Within the framework of the forum, Georgian wine is presented and offered for tasting to the professionals and representatives of trade industry. This year, Georgian wine will be presented online, in which up to 50 wine professionals will be involved remotely.
The United States is a strategic market for Georgian wine, where exports have been growing steadily for the past 5 years. Despite the pandemic, with the support of the National Wine Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the presentation of Georgian wine in the United States was held in various formats throughout the year. As a result, in the first 10 months of this year, 804 thousand bottles of wine were exported from Georgia to the United States, which is 33% more than the same period last year.
