Georgian wine and Chinese-Georgian folk day was celebrated in Beijing
Georgian wine and Chinese-Georgian folk day “Georgia-Wine homeland, continues 8000-year winery tradition” was celebrated in the capital of People’s Republic Of China, Beijing.
The event was organized by National Wine Agency and Georgian wine popularization center in China. The guests invited were hosted by Art Café Ku. The event was attended by Chinese and Georgian delegates together with Ambassador Extraordinary and Preliminary of Georgia in China Republic, Mr. Davit Aptsiauri and Georgian wine representative, Maia Tskitishvili , who made a speech.
Among the guests, there were representatives of leading Beijing universities (Peking University Renmin University and etc.), wine industry, art field, wine specialized and other media field.
Over 100 bottles of 30 varieties of Georgian wine company wines were introduced for degustation (“Teleda”, ”Dugladze Wines And Spirits” “Kakhetian Wine Cellar”, “Shalvino”, “Tiflisski Vinni Pogreb”, “Winery Khareba”, “Telavi Wine Cellar”). The guests had opportunity to see art of Georgian Sculpture-Painter working in China, Aleksandre Gelashvili.
Chinese and Georgian folk and dances were performed at the ceremony, which ended by degustation of Georgian and Chinese food and Georgian wine. Music played on traditional Chinese instrument Guzheng and Chinese folk dances were performed by Korean ensemble, which was organized by Beijing International Cultural Development Organization.
Similar events have special meaning for Georgian Wine popularization and export raise in China. According to data of 5 months of the current year, 1 242 523 bottles of wine were exported in China, which is 106% higher than the similar data of the last year. 2015 year was extremely important for Georgian wine export in China Republic-growth compared with 2014 year excide 122%, export made up at 2 672 154 bottles (0,75L) in the whole. China took the 4th place in the 5 of Georgian wine export countries after Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
