WinExpo Georgia 2016
On the 3-5 June, “The 9th international fair of Wine and Alcohol Beverage – WinExpo Georgia 2016” is held with the exhibition center ExpoGeorgia organization and National Wine Agency of Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia support.
The exhibition was opened by the first Deputy minister of Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia, Nodar Kereselidze.
The event was attended by the head of National Wine Agency, Giorgi Samanishvili, the head of National Tourism Administration, Giorgi Chogovadze, Vice-Mayor of Tbilisi, Irakli Lekvinadze, the head of the “Georgian Wine Association “, Tina Kezeli, representatives of winemaking companies, wine experts and specialists of the field.
The Deputy minister of Ministry of Agriculture, Nodar Kereselidze thanked the organizers of the fair, international experts of wine, manufacturers and representatives of small cellars for participation in the fair and mentioned that their active partnership makes the fair large-scaled and prestigious.
“Ministry of Agriculture is involved in every activity orientated on development and popularization of winery and vinery field in Georgia. This exposition is for the same purpose. This is one of the large-scale fairs in the winery field, , the winemaking companies have opportunity to introduce their production to the consumers, wine professionals, representatives of wine business and media. Events like this, give us opportunity to introduce Georgia, as the native land of wine and be proud of the 8 thousand year diverse history of wine culture”- mentioned Nodar Kereselidze.
As the head of National Wine Agency stated, the number of the visitors of the fair increases year after year.
“This is the 9th year of our partnership with thins fair. In the country of such great wine history and culture, there should be several fairs for wine makers to introduce their production to every interested potential international and also national consumer, which is also very important. I want to thank each organizer, participant and visitor of the fair for coming, and I want to tell you, that National Wine Agency will be involved in every event held in Georgia for development and popularization of winery and vinery ”- mentioned Giorgi Samanishvili.
95 companies 5 countries participate in the fair (Georgia, Ukraine, Germany, Italy and France). On WineExpo 2016 Georgia, not only wines and alcohol beverage, but also winemaking installation and accessories, reprocessing lines, packaging materials, glass tare and cork producing and distributing companies. In the framework of the fair, there is a special corner for small and family cellar and Qvevri making wines. On WineExpo Georgia 2016, the guests have opportunity to taste not only the best Georgian wines, but also variety of cheese made by Georgian traditional methods. In the framework of the international fair of wine and alcohol beverage, the 8th International Wine Award will be held on 3-4 June. The models of the wines exhibited on the fair will be estimated by judges completed by international oenologists, famous wine journalists and specialists. The membership of the judges are: chairman of the judges, wine magister - Mr. Tim Atkin MW ,UK, wine magister – Kenichi Ohashi MW, Japan, Wine magister - Richard Kershaw MW, South Africa, sommelier - Isa Bal MS, Turkey, oenologist and wine professional – Mikheil Meskhi (Georgia) and wine expert and Deputy minister of Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili (Georgia). The winning wines in different categories will be awarded by the competent judges on the ceremonial on the 4th June.
In the framework of the international fair of wine and alcohol beverage, in the XI pavilion of the exhibition center ExpoGeorgia, the visitors of the fair will have opportunity to attend show of Levan Mosiashvili, “Wine Art”.
