Exports of wine and spirits keep increasing
According to the data of January-November 2019, 86 million bottles (0.75 liters) of wine have been exported to 53 countries around the world, which is 10% higher than the same period in 2018. Exported wine costs amount to 220 million USD, which is 20% higher than the same period in 2018.
In 2018, 86.2 million bottles of wine were exported from Georgia, the highest figure in the last 30 years. According to the data of 11 months of the current year, expectations can be reached that 2019 will end with a new record, as traditionally exports in December is higher than other months.
Exports to strategic Georgian wine markets increased: US - 48% (660874 bottles), UK - 22% (126493), Poland - 24% (3746092), and China - 1% (6323463).
Growth is also noticeable in the following countries: Lietuva - 48% (653322), Mongolia - 5% (224652), Belarus - 68% (2505617), Israel - 81% (287023), Germany - 40% (615723), Estonia - 27% (648884), Russia - 11% (53964172), Moldova - 8551% (612524), Netherlands - 22% (88114), Czech Republic 17% (67584), Sweden - 562% (78390), Bulgaria - 23% (32934) and etc.
According to 11 months, 323 companies exported different amount of wine.
In addition, 28,4 million bottles (0.5 l) of brand are exported to 24 countries worldwide, which is 60% more than in 2018. The brand's export revenue amounted $ 60,7 million (up 67%). 585 thousand bottles (0.5 l) of Chacha is exported to 28 countries worldwide, export growth is 63%. Chacha's export revenue reaches $ 1.6 million (up 56%).
Whole exports of wine, brandy, Chacha, brandy spirit and unbottled brandy amounted to 325 million $, up by 15% from the same period last year.
