According to the data of September 2, 5,5 thousand tons of different grapes have been processed in Kakheti region, including 2 thousand tons of Saperavi, 1,3 tons of Rkatsiteli, 800 tons of Kakhuri Mtsvane and other different varieties.

At present, 25 wineries are involved in grape processing in different municipalities of Kakheti region. There are already 100 wine producing companies registered at the vintage HQ, which will be involved in various stages of the vintage process.

Vintage in Kakheti will enter more active phase next week.

This year about 200-250 thousand tons of grapes are expected to be harvested in Kakheti region.

According to Levan Mekhuzla, Head of Vintage Coordination Staff, the state is involved in the vintage process in terms of harvest accounting and organized storing and does not interfere with the pricing and free market regulation. As he states, in case of excessive grapes on the market, the risks and interests of the growers would be protected and no grapes would be left undelivered.

Vintage 2019 Coordination HQ is located in The Wine Hotel Telavi (97 Alazani St.) in Telavi.
The QH operates 24 hours a day for active communication between state agencies, entrepreneurs and growers. Interested parties can obtain vintage information at the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture hotline - 1501.
