Red wine-tasting in Baltic countries
In the capital of Lithuania Vilnius and in Kaunas, Georgian wine presentation and tasting named “Red wines Georgia” was held. The ambassador of Georgia in Lithuania, Khatuna Salukvadze attended the ceremony held in Vilnius and greeted the participants.
The presentation was led by the president of Lithuanian Sommelier Association, Arunas Starkus and the head of department of marketing and public relations of National Wine Agency, Irakli Cholobargia.
“The point of degustation is to increase Georgian wine perception due to style, grape variety and other characters among national wine professionals. Baltics is one of the interesting end perspective export market for Georgian wine. According to marketing plan, different activities are considered in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia during the year, that will promote Georgian wine popularization and increase trade in these countries” - noted Irakli Cholobargia.
The presentation and wine-tasting was aimed to native importers, sommeliers and the journalists working on wine issue. The initiative of presenting only red wine on degustation was taken by Lithuanian Sommelier Association and their point of view, it would make the ceremony even more interesting. Wine professionals and amateurs will have the opportunity of tasting Georgian white wine as well on the activities arranged during the year.
On the degustation, the following Georgian wine-making companies were presented: “Shalvino”, “Georgian Wine House”, “Lukasi”, “Kakhuri”,” Georgian Legends”, “WineMan” ,“Winery Khareba”,”Wine Iveria” and “Usakhelauri”. The guests of the ceremony had the opportunity to taste different Georgian red wines: “Saperavi”, “Khvanchkara”, “Mukuzani”, “Alazani Valley”, “Kindzmarauli”, “Ojaleshi”, “Usakhelauri” and “Otskhanuri sapere”.
Similar Georgian red wine-tasting presentation will be held in the capital of Latvia, Riga, on 7th April.
