Georgian wine participated in  The 94th China Food & Drinks Fair

In  the city of  Sichuan province, Chengdu, China,  The 94th China Food & Drinks Fair was held, large-scale of Georgian wines were exhibited. The head of  National wine agency Giorgi Samanishvili attended the exhibition and met national government representatives during his visit in China.

The exhibition mentioned above is being held since 1955 and is considered to be the most important exhibition in China. Annually, tens of thousands of visitors participate all around the world and it gives a perfect opportunity to Georgian wine to become more popular and notable on the south-east Asian market.

Chengdu exhibition is different in format and is carried out in two stages. The first part was held on the 20-23thof  march in a hotel and was attended by only commercial persons: importers, distributors, representatives of restaurants and hotels. On the 24-26th of march, the fair moved to the main exhibition area. 15 Georgian winemaking companies participated in the display: “Telavi Wine Cellar”, , “Tbilvino”, “”Batono”, “Teliani Valley”, “Dugladze Wines & Spirits”, “Askaneli Brothers”, “Georgian Wine House”, “Shalvino”, “Bagrationi 1882”, “Winery Khareba”, “Qimerioni”, “Tifliski Wine Cellar”, “Vaziani Company”, “Corporation Kindzmarauri” and  “Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking” (KTW).

Georgian wine was also displayed on international wine exhibition - „Tenth China International Wine Fair (CIADE 2016)“ held  in Luchou, China, on 19-21 March and participated as a special guest.

China is one of the strategic markets for Georgian wine export. 2015th year was especially important for Georgian wine export point – export growth reached 122% compared to the 2014th year, totally 2 672 154 bottles (0.75l)  were exported.
