Bordeaux will Host Exhibition Dedicated to Georgian Wine-Making and Viticulture

The large-scale exhibition dedicated to Georgian viticulture / wine making  will be conducted in 2017 at the center for wine and civilization in France, city Bordeaux. The above mentioned event is very important for Georgia , as for the country of ancient civilization, which has  a long and wide experience in wine making. It should be noted,  that Georgia will be the first country to open the public display .

Georgian Governmental Commission was created to set objectives to further organize a successful exhibition. The commission, composed of the representatives of various governmental agencies will be headed by Otar Danelia, Minister of Agriculture of Georgia.

Today the first meeting of governmental commission was held at the  Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia. The workshop covered organizational issues of the exhibition, which will be hold in 2017 in city Bordeaux. How to transmit information to the center for wine and civilization , prepare relevant literature or  wine a  large variety of wine types to be further displayed at the exhibition have been brought forward by the members of the commission.

,, We should note,  that signing the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) Agreement will bring further benefits to Georgia, therefore, economic growth and popularization of the country is expected to  be increased, especially today, when our country is on it’s way to the European integration, in this regard positioning of Georgian products on the EU is very important for us. We can boldly say , that Bordeaux has become the world’s most prestigious and most renowned wine making region, accordingly, Georgia to be presented as  the country of ancient civilization and a cradle of wine will boost popularization of our country not only in Europe but throughout the world ‘’- said Otar Danelia, Minister of Agriculture.

“Georgia should be presented at the exhibition stand not only in terms of wine-making, but also in terms of culture, ethnography and history. Therefore, organizers include representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture, Foreign Affairs, Education and Science, Culture and Monument Protection, and Economy and Sustainable Development’’- stressed Mr. Danelia.

 ‘’ Georgia is  invited in city Bordeaux as the cradle of wine and  the country of ancient civilization, that will play a significant role in trade promotion of  the country’’ -noted Eka Siradze – Delone, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia.

Levan Davitashvili, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Ketevan Natriashvili, the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Levan Kharatishvili. Deputy Minister at Ministry of Culture and Monuments Protection, Eka Siradze – Delone, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia. Giorgi Samanishvili, Chairman of National Wine Agency, Giorgi Chogovadze ,  Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, Tina Kezereli, Head of the Georgian Wine Association , also representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs , Economy and Sustainable Development attended the workshop.

The exhibition  will be opened at the center for wine and civilization in May 30,  2016 in France,  city Bordeaux.  The large-scale complex will be built through initiative of Alain Juppe, Mayor of Bordeaux .  Archaeological  unit  as a characteristic feature of the museum will be less presented at the center. The  latest technology will be applied  at the center of wine and civilization, which covers 14 thousand square meters and is distinguished with modern architecture and design. The latest achievements in the field will be presented at the center.
