Georgian Wine on China-Eurasian Fair
In Urumqi, Xinjiang province, China, on September 20-25, The 5th Eurasia 2016 was held.
With National Wine Agency support and Xinjiang “Georgian Wine Center” co-organization, 16 Georgian winemaking companies took part in the fair.
On the Georgian pavilion, there were Georgian folklore dances shown, that interested many visitors. Georgian pavilion was decorated with Qvevris and different Georgian traditional items.
The visitors tasted Georgian wine together with “Churchxela” and other sweets.
There was populousness on the fair. Just on September 23, 80 thousand guests visited the exhibition.
According to the data of August 2016, Georgian wine export growth in China amounted 184%, totally, 3 368 361 bottles have been exported within the past 8 months.
This is the first time in Georgian wine history China replaced to the second place the third in the five of Georgian wine exporter countries, and outpaced such traditional market, as Ukraine.
