Georgian Wine Exports Increased by 13%
In January-February 2019, 12,2 mil. bottles (0,75l) of wine have been exported to 32 countries worldwide, that is 13% higher than the similar data of 2018. Exported wine income amounted to 30 mil. USD, that is 21% higher than the data of the previous year.
Georgian wine transportation has increased in the direction of America, Asia, Europe and traditional markets. It should be noted that the Polish market has removed to the third place from the fifth in the list of the exporter countries.
Georgian wine exports have increased in Georgian wine strategic markets: Poland - 42% (628022), China - 7% (600783), and USA 1032% (128145); Also on European markets: Lietuva - 75% (104616), France - 24% (17406),) Sweden - 300% (9000), Bulgaria - 6% (4500). Also, on traditional and Asian markets: Mongolia - 200% (66012), Russia - 17% (8688854), Azerbaijan - 8% (8814), Belorussia -1389% (80394) and etc.
The first five of the exporter countries are the following: Russia (8688854), Ukraine (976482), Poland (628022), China (600783) and Kazakhstan (346152). Different amount of wine was exported by 115 wine companies.
In addition, 4,2 mil. bottles (0,5 liters) of brandy have been exported to 13 countries worldwide, that is 89% higher than the similar data of the last year.
85,4 thousand bottles (0.5 l) of “Chacha” have been exported to 10 countries worldwide, growth amounted to 188%.
Totally, wine, bandy, “Chacha”, brandy alcohol and brandy in pour income amounted to 43,6 mil. USD – growth in comparison with the similar data of the previous year amounted to 13%.
