Chairman of The National Wine Agency Held Meetings in China
Giorgi Samanishvili, chairman of the National Wine Agency participated in the exhibition-forum "China International Spirits Culture Festival 2017", held in Yibin, Sichuan province of People's Republic of China, where Georgia and France were invited as the guests of honor.
The event was organized by the Government of the People's Republic of China, Sichuan province and the Chinese Alcoholic Beverage Association within the Silk Road Project - "One Way One Girdle". The Chairman of the National Wine Agency delivered a speech at the forum and also participated in the panel discussions.
Giorgi Samanishvili shared the experience of marketing activities carried out for popularization of Georgian wine with the participants of the event.
During his visit, the Chairman of the National Wine Agency held meetings with representatives of Sichuan provincial government and local commercial persons, where prospects for future cooperation were discussed. It was noted that the National Wine Agency will continue active marketing activities in 2018 to promote Georgian wine and export.
China remains a strategic market for Georgian wine export. According to the data of 11 months of the current year, 6,73 million bottles of wine have been exported from Georgia to China, which is 38% higher than the similar data of the last year. China takes the third place in the list of Georgian wine exporter countries.
