11 Month Data of Wine And Alcohol Beverage Export 2017
In January-November 2017, 70,2 mil. bottles (0,75l) of wine have been exported to 52 countries worldwide, that is 54% higher than the similar data of the last year. In the period under review, 154,8 mil. USD worth of wine have been exported, that is 49% higher than the data of the previous year.
“According to the export data of January-November 2017, wine export has exceeded 70 mil bottles. This indicator will increase by the end of the year, which means, that for the last 30 years, record amount of wine will be exported from Georgia. Export growth is remarkable in the countries of European Union, Asia, USA and other countries, which is a result of coordinated work and well planed marketing activity of the National Wine Agency and wine sector”- stated the Head of the National Wine Agency, Giorgi Samanishvili.
Export growth is remarkable in the following countries: China - 38% (6736081), Russia- - 76% (43903947), Ukraine - 48%(7660334), Poland - 12% (2388352), Latvia - 29% (1467464), Belarus - 59% (1682008), USA - 51% (445020), Germany - 49% (402318), Israel - 172% (204074), Mongolia - 82% (168162), Japan - 8% (155100), France - 176% (99112), Azerbaijan - 67% (111522) and etc.
The first five of the exporter countries is the following: Russia – (43903947), Ukraine - (7660334), China - (6736081), Kazakhstan – (3096879) and Poland – (2388352).
In addition, 16 337 174 bottles (0,5 liters) of brandy have been exported to 25 countries worldwide, that is 82% higher than the similar data of the last year. Totally, 35,3 million USD worth of brand have been exported, the growth compared to the similar data of the last year is 75%.
In the period under review, 251 thousand bottles (0.5 l) of “Chacha” have been exported in 22 countries worldwide, growth amounted 170 %. Income of “Chacha” export amounted 767,7 USD, the growth compared to the last year is 142%.
Totally, wine, bandy, “Chacha”, wine material and brandy alcohol income amounted 257,7 mil. USD – growth in comparison with the similar data of the previous year amounted 47%.
