Conference on viticulture and winemaking traditions and development perspectives was held in Ambrolauri
Conference on Racha-Lechkhumi Viticulture and Winemaking Traditions and Development Perspectives was held in Ambrolauri. The conference was attended by the head of the National Wine Agency, Giorgi Samanishvili, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Region First Deputy Governor Davit Gudumidze, Deputy Head of Agriculture Research Center Nodar Khatiashvili, Head of Coordination Department of the Ministry of Agriculture Shalva Kereselidze, local farmers and wine company representatives.
At the conference, the head of DIVISION OF OENOLOGY, POST-HARVEST STORING AND PROCESSING, David Chichua informed the local winemakers about the old Racha varieties of the vine and their entrepreneurial potential recovered by the Scientific Research Center of Agriculture. Farmers received comprehensive information on the issues they were interested in.
According to the Head of the National Wine Agency Giorgi Samanishvili, Georgia is distinguished by the variety of vine, and that is why it is important to use this potential.
"It is important that the farmers should be actively involved in the conference, who will receive comprehensive information about the state programs for promoting agricultural sector development, as well as the forgotten unique varieties", Nodar Khatiashvili said.
It should be noted that the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Scientific-Research Center and the Administration of the Governor's Representative in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Region. The memorandum includes delivering and sharing news, recommendations and experiences in the main directions of the region's agriculture, arranging thematic seminars and meeting farmers.
