Presentation of Books Associated with Viticulture and Winemaking Was Organized within the Framework of Georgian Wine Week

Within the framework of Georgian Wine Week, exhibition and presentation of monographic books associated with viticulture and winemaking was organized in vine and wine library of the National Library of Georgia, which was lead by wine writer, Giorgi Barisashvili.

There were books of the latest period published in various languages including Giorgi Barisashvili\'s “Vocabulary Materials for  Winery and Viticulture”, “Georgian Cellar”, Bondo Kalandadze\'s “Georgia – Wine Cradle”, “Samtresti da Samtrestelebi”, “Tipples of the World”, Malkhaz Kharbedia\'s “Wine Guide”, Teimuraz Glonti and Zurab Glonti\'s monography - “Kakhetian Mtsvivani”, Levan Pruidze\'s “Georgian Viticulture and Winery History”, Tamaz kobaidze\'s “Reference of Georgian Vine Cultures”  and etc.

The presentation was attended by honored wine writers, authors of books and students of  Agricultural Univercity of Georgia. The guests had opportunity to taste Georgian wines and speak about winery and viticulture issues.

Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia and National Wine Agency collaborated with organizations working in Georgian wine sector is organizing “Georgian Wine Week” in the current year September 22 to October 2, which includes many different activities in Tbilisi and regions – wine degustations, presentations, wine tours, film show, wine festivals and competitions.

This is the third year of celebration Georgian Wine Day  with Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia and National Wine Agency organization. The permanent partners of the activity are Georgian Wine Association, Georgian Sommelier Association, Kakheti Wine Guild, Wine Club and Wine Tourism Association. Considering great interest of Georgian population and tourists towards the activity in the previous years, it was settled to organize Georgian Wine Week this year.
