Georgian Wine Tasting Was Held in Matsuyama

Georgian wine tasting at the administrative center of Ehime Prefecture in Matsuyama, Japan, was organized by the National Wine Agency "Red Bridge".
The presentation of Georgian wine was led by "Red Bridge", the only Japanese master of wine , Kenichi Ohashi. In terms of wine consumption, Matsuyama is the leading city in the region. The tasting was attended by about 60 local wine importers, distributors and representatives of restaurants chains.
"I appreciate all the participants who are attending Georgian wine tasting. Georgia is a homeland of wine with 525 local vine varieties. As well as Japanese cuisine, the technology of Qvevri wine making is included in UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage list. We will also continue Georgian wine marketing activities in Georgia next year "- said the master if wine.
Kenichi Ohashi, who is considered as "Georgian Wine Ambassador" in Japan,  presented seven Georgian wines for local professionals: "Rkatsiteli Superior 2015" (Chateau Mukhrani), "Rkatsiteli 2016" (Orgo), "Mtsvane 2015" (Shumi "Iberian"), "Mtsvane 2016" (Vaziani Winery line "Makashvili Wine Cellar"), "Saperavi 2016" (Giuaani), "Mukuzani 2014" (Shumi Line "Iberiuli") and "Saperavi 2015" (Shalauri Wine Cellar).
Japan is one of the strategic markets of Georgian wine. According to  9 month data of the current year, more than 170 thousand bottles of wine were exported from Georgia to Japan, which is 68% higher than the similar data of the last year.
