Andro Aslanishvili: The most part of the grape harvest has been preserved in the Racha region
Within the “Vintage-2018” the most part of the grape harvest has been preserved in the Racha region. It was noted by the chef of the vintage coordination HQ and the deputy head of the National Wine Agency Andro Aslanishvili.
“Nevertheless the vintage has not reached its end in the Racha-Lechkhumi region, it can be inferred that, the most part of the grape harvest has been preserved in that region. The indicator of the reproduction of Aleqsandrouli and Mujuretuli is very high this year. For instance, if last year 800 tones of grapes were reproduced, this year the indicator shows up to 1497 tones” – noted Andro Aslanishvili.
According to him, the communication between the viticulturists and the wine producers during the vintage process has been fully held. “The benevolence among the viticulturists in Ambrolauri is obvious. Vintage is always an emotional event, people care about their harvest to be preserved. People who even were expressing anxiety by the beginning of the vintage, are now in a good mood, which makes us really happy” – noted the chef of the vintage coordination HQ.
According to Andro Aslanishvili since 2007 first non subsidized vintage has indicated that winemakers and viticulturists as well, are prepared to be involved in the process of the sustainable development of the winemaking industry. “This year’s vintage has shown that, companies and viticulturists as well have unambiguous readiness and potential in order to grow and develop, accept and share innovation. Coordinated actions and will to take steps in the creation of the better future in order to achieve the sustainable development of the winemaking industry has been an advantage of this year’s vintage” was noted by him.
From the standpoint of October 9, up to 1500 tones of grapes - Aleqsandrouli and Mujuretuli has been reproduced in Racha region and the income of the viticulturists has reached up to 10,4 million GEL. 1350 viticulturist delivered grapes to the winemaking factories in the Racha region. Up to 50 winemaker companies were involved in the vintage process in the Racha region.
