A group of British wine importers, journalists and wine professionals is visiting Georgia.
During the tour organized by the National Wine Agency contractor company "Swirl Wine Group", British professionals are getting familiar with the following wine producers in Imereti, Kartli and Kakheti: "Vartsikhe Marani", "Winery Khareba", "Natenadze's Wine Cellar", "Iago's Wine", "Story Winery", "Ruispiri Biodynamic Vineyard", " Matrobela Wines", "Teliani Valley ", “GWS ", "Giuaani" and "Lukasi Winery. " They also visited potter Zaza Kbilashvili and discovered varieties of Georgian vine in Jighaura farm of the scientific research center of agriculture.

One of the members of the group, Daniel Illsley (Theater of Wine), reports that in the UK there is a great enthusiasm to taste wines from Georgia. And of corse the interest in amber wines or orange wines is very fashionable in London at the moment, is wine bars, restaurants, that's been a lot of press, that's been a lot of good PR on these subjects so that's given people a lot of curiosity. The unique flavors, the individual production technique, the sense of history, all captured the imagination of one of the most exciting wine markets in the world, which is Britain, the UK and obviously London”, he said.
The National Wine Agency has been cooperating with the Sarah Abbott marketing company "Swirl Wine Group" since 2017. The introduction of Georgian wine to British professionals is very important because it is one of the largest importer and wine consumers in the world to popularize Georgian wine and increase export potential.
According to the data of 8 months of the current year, up to 53 thousand bottles of wine are exported from Georgia to Great Britain, which is 17% higher than the data of the same period last year.
