Presentation of Georgian wine in Japan
The Georgian wine presentation and tasting was held in Tokyo and Sapporo, Japan organized by the the National Wine Agency contractor marketing company "Red Bridge".
Georgian wine tastings were attended by sommeliers, distributors, representatives of restaurants and hotels from different cities, totally, about 130 people, where various styles of wines were presented.
Georgian Wine Tasting was lead by the head of "Red Bridge", Master of Wine, Kenichi Ohash and the winner of Japan's 3 Top Sommelier Competitions Makato Abe.
At the tastings held in Japan, professional guests had the opportunity to taste the following wines: "Rkatsiteli Superior 2015" (Chateau Mukhrani), "Rkatsiteli 2014" (Orgo), "Green 2015" (Shumi), "Green 2016" (Makashvili Wine Cellar), "Saperavi 2016 "(Giuani)," Mukuzani 2014 "(company" Shumi ")," Saperavi 2015 "(Shalauri).
The dinner for Georgian wines and Asian dishes was also held in Tokyo, where the following wines were presented: "Rkatsiteli" (Pheasant's Tears), "Chinuri 2016" (Lagvinari), "Green Qvevri 2016" (Qvevri Wine Cellar), "Kisi 2017" (Shumi) , "Otskhanani Sapere 2015" (Lagvarian) and "Saperavi 2016" (Orgo).
Japan is one of the strategic markets of Georgian wine, where according to the data of 7 months of the current year, over 166 thousand bottles of wine have been exported, which is 124% higher than the similar data of the last year.
