Levan Davitashvili: This Vintage Will Also Be Successful
Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili got acquainted with the vintage process in the village of Samtatskaro, Dedoplistskaro municipality.
Levan Davitashvili attended the vintage of the viticulturist in Samtatskaro, Nikoloz Sardalashvili, which cultivates several varieties of grapes on 2 hectares land. According to the viticulturist himself, he has not had a problem of grape realization in recent years. In the current year, he agreed with the entrepreneur at the price of grapes, which was acceptable to him.
According to the Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, diversified markets, increased wine exports and the number of enterprises gives the basis that the vintage will be successful and organized.
"Vintage started smoothly in Kakheti. Due to the results of the state policy implemented in Georgian winemaking and wine industry in the last years, the vintage 2018 will be organized and successful and the first vintage without subsidy within the recent 10 years will be successful. Entrepreneurs and viticulturists will agree on the price according to the quality and condition of the grapes"said Levan Davitashvili.
Vintage 2018 Coordination HQ officially opened on August 20. Currently 80 companies are registered in the headquarters, which will be involved in grape processing. 23 wine cellars are already involved in the vintage process. Up to 5 thousand tons of grapes have been processed.
Vintage process in Dedoplistskaro was attended by the First Deputy Governor of Kakheti region Irakli Shioshvili and the Advisor to the Prime Minister of Regional Issues Sozar Subari, along with the head of Vintage Coordination HQ, Andro Aslanishvili.
