A new wine factory was opened in Kakheti
In the frames of "United Agroproject", a wine company "Agrida" was opened in the village of Shilda, Kvareli municipality, Kakheti.
Acting Chair of the National Wine Agency Andro Aslanishvili attended the opening of the enterprise together with the local authorities.
"Increased wine exports and diversified markets create the basis for establishing new wine enterprises in Georgia. At present, there are up to 500 wine companies in Georgia, 250 of them are export wine. With the support of the state, the viticulture and wine industry is strengthened and there is no need of subsidy support. We welcome the fact that another wine factory has been opened, which is planning to involve in the current vintage process and purchase grape from the population, "Andro Aslanishvili stated.
According to Guram Mindiashvili, head of "Agrida", the factory will be involved in the current year's vintage and will process the grapes from their own vineyards, as well as from the population. Agrida owns 23 hectares of vineyards, plans to produce wines made in qvevri and and also, wines made by classic method. Its capacity is 1.5 million bottles per year. Wine will be sold both on the local market and on export. Up to 50 people will be employed in the enterprise, development of wine tourism is also intended.
The enterprise "Agriada" was created within the framework of the preferential agro-credit project, cost of which amounted to 1,2 million GEL.
Within the framework of "United Agroproject", 28 new wine enterprises have been granted and 64 wine factories have been expanded.
