Georgian Wine Export Price at The 5th Place in The World
According to the figures published by the American Association of Wine Economists (AAWE), in 2014-16, the average price of 1 liter of wine exported - USD 3,49 - Georgia occupies the 5th place in the world.
AAWE - American Association of Wine Economists is a prestigious American organization and according to their rating, France takes the first place (6.59 $), followed by New Zealand ($ 5.39) and third in the United States ($ 3.68). Austria is ahead of Georgia, taking the fourth place (3.51 $).
In the ranking, the countries like Croatia (3.41 $), Argentina (3.11 $), Portugal (3.07 $), Germany (3.06 $), Italy (3.06 $) are after Georgia.
According to Irakli Cholobargia, Head of Marketing and PR Department of the National Wine Agency, this rating indicates high quality of Georgian wine.
"It is complimentary that not only the export of Georgian wine, but also the quality and price of on the international market has increased.This situation was preceded by the agreed, right marketing campaign with the wine industry, and the certain steps taken in the last few years to improve the quality of Georgian wine "- said Irakli Cholobargia.
