Georgian wine export has grown by 19% within the seven months of 2018
In January-July 2018, 45,4mil. bottles (0,75l) of wine have been exported to 50 countries worldwide, that is 19% higher than the similar data of 2017. Exported wine income amounted to 90,3 mil. USD, that is 28% higher than the data of the previous year.
Georgian wine exports have been increased in Georgian wine strategic markets both in Europe and Asia, as well as in US and other traditional markets.
According to the data of January-July 2018, export growth is remarkable in the following countries: Japan 124% (166 032), Czech - 68% (30456), Kyrgyzstan -81% (140370), South Korea - 130% (40980), Netherlands - 17% (38799), UK - 67% (50062), Germany -32% (308734), Ukraine – 38% (5040319), Kazakhstan - 41% (1996860), Latvia - 16% (966726), Poland 32% (1886618), Russia - 20% (28564609), Estonia –7% (329304), Lietuva - 21% (265062),USA - 4% (244374), Romania – 390% (84654) and etc.
The first five of the exporter countries are the following: Russia (28564609), Ukraine (5040319), China (3514066), Kazakhstan (1996860) and Poland (886618).
In addition, in January-July, 9,9 mil. bottles (0,5 liters) of brandy have been exported to 20 countries worldwide, that is 20% higher than the similar data of the last year. Exported brandy amounted to 20mil. USD, growth amounted to 7%.
In the period under review, 219,5 thousand bottles (0.5 l) of “Chacha” have been exported to 24 countries worldwide, growth amounted to 114%. Totally, 638,5 thousand USD worth of Chacha has been exported, which is 126% higher than the similar data of the last year.
Totally, wine, bandy, “Chacha”, brandy alcohol and brandy in pour income amounted to 173,3 mil. USD – growth in comparison with the similar data of the previous year amounted to 21%.
