"The Natural Wines Day"
The Natural Wines Association, together with the National Wine Agency and the GIZ "Private Sector Development and Technical Education and Training" (PSDTVET), celebrated the "Natural Wines Day".
The aim of the event was to strengthen grape and wine producers, improve their production and quality standards, popularize bio-wines, deepen cooperation between wine cellars and increase competitiveness on the wine market. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between GIZ PSD TVET and Natural Wine Association.
The event was attended by members of the Natural Wine Association as well as the experts of the field, representatives of the National Wine Agency, GIZ and the German Embassy. Participants discussed the important issues for the wine sector such as the "National Cadastre of Vineyards" and "Planning and Development of the New Vineyard".
The National Wine Agency has been implementing Vineyards Cadastre Program since 2014, which aims to create a renewable information system for management and control of vineyards and wine production, the main purpose of which is to monitor grapes and grape products. Creation of national cadastre of Georgian vineyards will enhance Georgian wine quality and competitiveness in the world wine market, ensuring simplification of vintage process and transparency.
The above-mentioned process should take into account the international experience and be harmonized with the current legislation of the EU. With the support of the German government, CIM's integrated expert Anna Luzi was involved in the implementation of the National Cadastre Program of the vineyards.
Within the framework of the cadastral program, the concept of construction and functioning of Georgian vineyards cadastre has been elaborated, The cadastral documents were developed, electronic database was selected, where cadastral information will be collected. There was no similar system in Georgia before. The cadastre system works effectively in all EU countries where viticulture and winemaking is developed. The existence of cadastral base is necessary for the regulation of vineyards, decision making in viticulture and winemaking, to properly verify the vintage process, to conduct wine production and its movement and for general regulation of viticulture and winemaking.
The event was held with the support of GIZ “Private Sector Development and Technical Education and Training in the South Caucasus", in the name of BMZ, which promotes the development of private sector in the wine, tourism and construction industry in Georgia and improvement of technical education system.
