Telavi, together with the other cities of Georgia celebrates The 100th Anniversary of Independence of Georgia.
With the organization of Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, wine festival is held in the center of Telavi, with about 30 wine companies and small cellars participation.
The ceremonial event in Telavi was attended by Deputy Ministers of Environment Protection and Agriculture Yuri Nozadze and Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Heads of the National Wine Agency Andro Aslanishvili and Levan Mekhuzla. Together with Kakheti regional governor Irakli Kadagishvili, they learnt the companies represented at the festival.
During the festival, there are visual material related to the history and traditions of wine and vine culture, various thematic photographs and theatrical performance of Georgian grape varieties. The cognitive lecture was held in the specially arranged area, which was hosted by the Deputy Head of the National Wine Agency, Levan Mekhuzla, where the scientific-documentary film "Georgia – The Cradle of Wine" was also screened.
Exhibition and sale of Georgian wines will be continued throughout the day at the wine market in the city center.
Regarding The 100th Anniversary of Independence of Georgia, military equipment is also displayed in Telavi Central Square. Exhibition of handmade accessories and folk crafts are also held here. The entertainment program was arranged for children with fun starts and sports-musical competitions.
Concerts with the participation of local artists and folk ensembles of other friendship cities of Telavi were held all day long.
The event will be ended by gala concert and grand firework, in which "Georgian Voices", "Kuchis Bichebi”", "Frani" and singer Nini Karseladze will participate.
The Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia celebrates the events dedicated to May 26 in Tbilisi, Telavi and Poti.
