Visit of American Wine Importers in Georgia
A group of American wine importers, headed by July Peterson, founder of the National Wine Agency contractor marketing company “Marq Energie Consulting” visited Georgia.
Georgian wine Speed Tasting was held for the importers in Tsinandali, on the territory of Aleksandre Chavchavadze's museum, where wines of 25 producers were presented. In the following days importers visited wine producing companies and small cellars in Kakheti selected as a result of tasting. Also, in Tbilisi, at the National Wine Agency Museum, they met with entrepreneurs, where they talked about the ways and opportunities for the Georgian wine exports growth in the USA.
During the tour the guests were invited to the "New Wine Festival" and the festival of natural wines "Zero Compromise".
Julie Peterson was met by the Deputy Chair of the National Wine Agency Andro Aslanishvili, where the prospect of Georgian wine export to the US market was discussed.
In the past years the US has emerged as one of the potentially growing and important export markets for Georgian wine. According to wine consumption market research, in the US over 3 billion liters of wine is consumed, which gives the opportunity to Georgian wine export growth to the US market with consistent and deliberate cooperation with Georgian wine producers.
In January-April, 2018, Georgia exported 106 thousand bottles to the USA, which is 4% higher than the similar data of 2017.
