Wine Festival “Telavino 2016” Was Held in Kakheti
The ministrer of Agriculture of Georgia, Leval Davitashvili attended the traditional wine festival “Telavino 2016” in Kakheti within the framework of Georgian Wine Week.
Levan Davitashvili harangued the guests of the festival and mentioned that year after year the festival becomes more large scaled and attracts more participants and guests.
“Kakheti is the ancient and traditional region of Georgian wine. It will be complimentary if the festival is held not only in Telavi, but also in other cities of Kakheti for the next time. The similar activities will support popularization of Georgian wine. Every year, “Telavino” is visited by more tourists, it means, that the festival becomes popular and takes an important place in the calendar of a tourist. The Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia will keep on supporting the similar activities for further increase of popularity of Georgian wine”, - mentioned Levan Davitashvili.
This is the third year “Telavino” is held with Kakhetian Wine Guild organization and Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia and National Wine Agency support. The objective of the festival is to popularize Georgian viticulture and winemaking.
This year, not only winemaker companies, but also small family cellars introduced their production. The guests of “Telavino 2016” had the opportunity to taste and buy in exclusively cheap prices different kinds of wine, Chacha and other alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages.
The activity was attended by the representatives of Ministry of Agriculture, National Wine Agency and local self-administration bodies.
Traditional trade model and craftwork exhibition-shop was held within the framework of the festival. Vintage tradition and winemaking associated photos and ethnographic expositions were exhibited. Local folklore companies introduced their creative work to the guests and made special festive environment.
With National Wine Agency of Ministry of Agriculture organization, Georgian Wine Week is celebrated September 22 to October 2. The partners of the event are Georgian Wine association, Georgian Sommelier Association, Kakhetian Wine Guild, Wine Club and Wine Tourism Association.
