Presentation of Georgian Wines in China
With the support of the National Wine Agency, 30 Georgian wine companies were presented at the large-scale exhibition "Prowein Shanghai 2017" in Shanghai, China.
Georgian wine companies have  participated in the "Prowein Shanghai 2017" for the second time, which has over   100 thousand visitors, including distributors, importers and wine professionals.
During the exhibition, special tasting-seminars of Georgian wine were held, which was led by the National Wine Agency contractor, international  master of wine, Debra Meiburg.
Chairman of National Wine Agency Giorgi Samanishvili attended the events in Shanghai, according to whom, China remains one of the most important export markets for Georgian wine.
“Interest of Chinese customers towards Georgian wine is still high. Especially since the research proving the fact that wine was made on the territory of Georgia 8 thousand years ago has been published. This fact and the resonance of the publication of scientific conclusions in the world press made a great influence on the interest of Georgian wine - many interested people came to the exhibition to taste and  get closer to the Georgian wine, " said Giorgi Samanishvili.
With the support of the National Wine Agency, the following companies participated in the exhibition: "Mosmieri", "Winery Khareba", "Besini", "Tifliski Vini Pogreb", "Tbilvino", "Gevelli", "GVS", "Chateau Mukhrani", "Tsinandali XXI The Best Wine Collection", "Qimerioni", "Marani", "Vaziani Company", "Vazisubani Estate", "Corporation Kindzmarauli", "Kvareli Cellar", “Palavani”, „KTW“, „Heritage Wines Georgia“, «Dugladze Wines and Spirits», «Alaverdi Ltd", "Giuaani", "Teliani Valley", "Georgian Wine House", "Chigogidze Wines", "Kakhetian Wine Cellar", “Danieli Winery”, “Shilda”, “Wine Man”, “Ikano”.
China remains a strategic market for Georgian wine export. According to the data of 10 months of the current year, Georgia has exported 6,1 million bottles of wine to China, which is 41% higher than the similar data of the last year. China, together with Ukraine, takes the second-third place in the list of Georgian wine exporter countries.
