Vintage has started in Racha

After Kakheti, vintage takes start in Racha-Lechkhumi. The Minister of Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili together with the governor of Racha-Lechkhumi and Qvemo Svaneti, Papuna Margvelidze opened vintage coordination staff in Ambrolauri municipality.

As the minister stated, the vintage preparative activities have finished and the government is ready for organized and successful vintage in Racha this year.

The minister of Agriculture attended the process of picking grapes in Saketsia, Ambrolauri municipality. Also, Levan Davitashvi was in the grape reproducing factory in Bugeuli, he met viticulturists who came to deliver their grapes and learnt the process of receiving grapes and reprocessing them.

For today, 100 tones of grapes have been reproduced in Racha. Vintage in Racha-Lechkhumi will be as organized and successful, as in Kakheti region, no viticulturist will have any problem about settling their harvest. It\'s important, that  the control mechanism of variety accuracy protection of  “Khvanchkara” grapes (Aleksandrouli, Mujuretuli) is also maintained this year in the region, each car will be under control, ampelographers will be involved in the process of vintage. I want to thank each appropriate body who are involved in the process” - Mentioned Levan Davitashvili.

The vintage coordination staff in Racha-Lechkhumi will be lead by  the head of National Wine Agency, Giorgi Samanishvili  like in Kakheti region.

For now, 15 companies have registered in the vintage coordination staff of Ambrolauri.

For the beginning, 6 receiving units will be operating – 3 in Ambrolauri, and 3 in the villages: Chrabalo, Bugeuli and Khvanchkara. Delivery hours are defined 10:00 to 18:00.

For grapes realization support purpose,according tothe decision of  the government of Georgia, on the grapes delivered in the wine companies registered in vintage coordination staff, physical persons will receive the following subsidy:

Kakheti region - 1kg Rkatsiteli and Kakhetian Mtsvane – 0,45Gel;

1kg Saperavi – 0,20Gel;

Racha-Lechkhumi and Qvemo Svaneti region – 1kg Mujuretuli/Aleksandrouli – 2Gel.
