Lax Agro-credit for Grapes Purchase Will Be Maintained in 2017
For the 2017 season, grape processing factories will have opportunity to receive preferential money resource for grapes purchase. 15 month lax-agro credit for grape purchase in Kakheti; 36 month lax-agro credit for Rkatsiteli and Kakhuri Mtsvane purchase in case of spirits distillation.
In recent years, grapes delivery and processing promotional programs are implemented in Georgia. In 2017, lax-agro credit will be given to finance turnover means of the grapes processing factories for the production of wine and brandy spirits, which foresees:
The co-financing of the rate expenses of the loan for the purchase of grapes obtained during the vintage season by wine factories with the following terms:
• Maximum loan term for wine producer grapes deliverers – 15 months;
• Maximum loan term in case of spirits distillation – 36 months;
• Minimum and maximum amount of the loan for wine processing factories to produce wine – 20 000 – 10 000 000 GEL;
• Minimum and maximum amount of the loan for wine processing factories to produce spirits – 20 000 – 15 000 000 GEL;
• In case of grapes delivery for wine production as well as for spirits production, the co-financing of the rate expenses of the loan will be the following: the agency will pay 8% of the capital amount annually, which will be payed by Agricultural Projects\' Management Agency according to the schedule of the loan simultaneously with the payment of the debtor;
• In case of grapes delivery for wine production as well as for spirits production, payment of the loan will be covered by non-standard schedule. The grace period of the beneficiary for capital amount as well as rate expenses will be specified no less than 15 January, 2018, as for grapes delivered for spirits production, 15 May, 2018;
• Each factory that will benefit from lax agro-credit for the working capital should submit the document issued by the National Wine Agency about the amount and value of the processed grapes and only after that the project will be co-financed;
• The factories willing to obtain the lax agro-credit for the production of spirits will be co-financed by the agency for the rate expenses of the loan taken to purchase “Rqatsiteli” and “Kakhuri Mtsvane” grape varieties.
Ministry of Agriculture has been implemented various stimulating projects to support the wine industry since 2013 up today, within the framework of which creation of small as well as large enterprises was encouraged, which contribute significantly to the successful conduction of the vintage. During the lax loan program, 24 new factories were created and 48 were expanded. This project gives the producers access to the preferential finances.
In 2017, 5 123 hectare vineyard has been insured within the agronomic state program. The number of issued policies is 6,796 and the insurance limit - 42,422,837 GEL. The bonus paid by the state amounts GEL 1,802,970.
