Counterfeit Wine Was Removed from The Polish Trading Network Sales
As a result of Georgian, European and Polish effective measures, counterfeit Georgian wine has been removed from sales of one of the Polish trading networks.
As the Head of National Wine Agency, Giorgi Samanishvili stated, wine produced in Poland and labeled as Georgian wine of appellation “Kakheti” was found in one of the big trading networks in Poland.
“Georgian side was informed about the case. After that, National Wine Agency and national intellectual property center (Sakpatenti) addressed to The Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development – DG AGR about the product» stated Giorgi Samanishvili.
He declares, that the Polish trading network was inspected according to the instructions of Directorate-General addressing Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland. The inspection revealed that the wine was truly produced in Ukraine and was sold using the label of the Georgian preserved appellation wine \"Kakheti\" and counterfeit Georgian wines were removed from the sale.
